Awareness training for adolescent students in Jhenaidah

Awareness training for the adolescent school students and gathering of the guardians was held in Kotchandpur of Jhenaidah on Thursday. 

Various types of health and hygiene related materials were distributed among the girl students on the day. Rural employment assistance project of Bangladesh Rural Development Board (BRDB) organized the event at Sherkhali High School under their second phase programme. 

Presided over by upazila nirbahi officer (UNO) Uchen May, deputy commissioner (DC) of Jhenaidah SM Rafiqul Islam attended the programme as the chief guest. Assistant rural development officer (ARDO) Mostafizur Rahman, assistant acting officer of the project Al Amin and field organizer Roksana Islam, among others, were present.

The girls were provided awareness training on child marriage, polygamy, dowry, divorce, leadership development and prevention of eve teasing issues. They were also advised to make their habit for savings and increase the rate for their better future.  The authorities had supplied some adolescent related sanitary and other materials among the girl children so that they could protect their private health and hygiene.   DC SM Rafiqul Islam in his speech as chief guest said, the girls, especially, those belong to rural community, suffer a lot for want of adequate knowledge and lack of health and hygiene related knowledge and materials in their need. 

The guardians should take care of the future generations and protect them from probable and some contaminated diseases with easy materials available to them. 

The girls in near future will build themselves as good citizens and participate in nation building activities when the country was marching toward a Smart Bangladesh, SM Rafiqul Islam said.
