A press briefing and seminar titled “Skills and Awareness for Foreign Employment” was held in Bandarban on Thursday. Chittagong Hill Tracts Affairs Minister Bir Bahadur Ushwe Sing MP attended the event as the the chief guest.
Bandarban District Administration under the management of the Ministry of Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment organised the programme at Bandarban DC office.
Deputy Commissioner of Bandarban Md. Daudul Islam, Deputy Secretary of the Ministry of Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment Kazi Kamrun Nahar, Additional Deputy Commissioner Md. Shamim Hossain, Additional Superintendent of Police Md. Kamruzzaman and Municipal Mayor Md. Islam Babi were present at the seminar.
Speaking on the occasion the Minister said that workers should be trained to make skilled workers before being sent to abroad. He also said that if properly trained workers are sent to abroad, they can earn a lot of foreign currency as well as reputation as skilled workers. This can increase the demand for Bangladeshi labour all over the world.
