Awareness campaign held to combat virus second wave

In response to the upcoming second wave of corona infection across the country, a campaign was conducted and free masks were distributed in Pabna at the initiative of social and political organizations on Thursday.

The programme was held to ensure compliance with health regulations and the implementation of government-announced "No Mask No Service" policy. 

Leaders and activists of political and cultural organizations distributed masks among people of all walks of life at various important places in Pabna town at the time.

Through holding street meetings in important places of the town, common people were urged to follow the rules of hygiene on the occasion. 

District Workers Party President Comrade Zakir Hossain, Ganatantri Party General Secretary Comrade Sultan Ahmed, Jatiya Party Vice President Nasir Chowdhury and activists of various local social and cultural organizations took part in the awareness raising programme.

On the first day of the programme, about two thousand masks were distributed among public in 10 important places of the town. 

In total 10,000 masks will be distributed among the poor, helpless and destitute people for free in the next 10 days, the organizers said.
