STRICT LOCKDOWN IN JHENAIDAH

Awareness campaign goes on dawn to dusk

Jhenaidah district administration went tough on strict lockdown in the district when the global pandemic corona virus took serious turn in the bordering district in last few weeks. To make the people aware on the issue ad refrain them from moving here and there unnecessarily. 

They have been also conducting mobile courts when the people don not use face mask and maintain health guidelines. To make the people more aware on the issue at least ten publicity vehicles have been moving in remote villages of the district round the cock, said district information office sources in Jhenaidah.

District information office (DIO) Abu Bakar Siddique informed s per the decision of the district administration; his office had arranged the movement of ten publicity vehicles at time. The vehicles with their mikes have been conducting publicity with loud voice with warning that they would not leave house unnecessarily. If any one ignore the government advice, will be brought in books, DIO Abu Bakar Siddique said.

Some people of bordering Moheshpur upazila said a number of publicity vehicles have been moving with loud voice to follow the government advice when strict lockdown is imposed throughout the district like other parts of the country. The publicity might play role to aware the commoners to maintain the government rules, they said.

Sashwati Seal, upazila nirbahi officer (UNO) in Moheshpur when contacted said the publicity vehicles have been moving with warning so that the people should follow it to prevent the spread of novel corona virus in the border belt at huge people have been entering in to Bangladesh territory without any valid papers. Qamrul Ahsan, Battalion Director of the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) of 58 battalion at Moheshpur when contacted said the flow of inrush of the Bangladeshi nationals from neighboring India could not be stopped anyway and huge people have been entering through the border points everyday. 

As the government has been imposing strict lockdown throughout the country since Thursday, they have advised the BGB personnel to show no tolerance to the illegal entrance. The spread of the global havoc turned to a serous stage in West Bengal and some other parts of neighboring India, Battalion Director said.

Deputy Commissioner in Jhenaidah Mozibor Rahman when contacted said the publicity vehicles have been moving at each and every village of the district so that mass people could be informed about the spread of the global havoc and what was their responsibility.

Those who have been moving reluctant are punished through mobile courts so that they did not repeat the same offense any more in near future. He has been monitoring the publicity activities where the UNOs have been moving.

Mention ay be made here that a total of 83 had died in the district till June 26.
