Awami League always stands by the people: DSCC Mayor

Barrister Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh, Mayor of Dhaka South City Corporation Bangladesh said that Awami League has been, currently is and will be by the side of the people. 

The DSCC mayor made the remarks while distributing food items to 2,400 poor and jobless families in wards 55, 56 and 57 of South City Corporation on Saturday. 

DSCC Mayor Barrister Taposh and former Minister Adv. Md. Kamrul Islam distributed the food items at the premises of Al-Hera Community Center.

Joining the event through the online platform, the DSCC Mayor said, "Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is especially sympathetic towards the helpless and poor people of the country. Bangladesh Awami League is determined to build the ‘Shonar Bengal’, the dream of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman”.

He added that therefore, Bangladesh Awami League has always been by the side of the people of this country. The PM has allocated the corporation to help the unemployed and helpless people in the pandemic. Local MP Adv. Md. Kamrul Islam has joined the allocation.

Connecting to the online platform former minister Adv. Md. Kamrul Islam said, "In the current context of the pandemic, I have been conducting various collaborative activities including distribution of food items to the helpless people of Kamrangirchar for a long time.”

As food items, 10 kg of rice, 1 kg of oil, 1 kg of potatoes and half a kg of daal (lentil pulses) were distributed among each family.

Councilor of Ward No. 55 Mohammad Noor Alam, Councilor of Ward No. 56 Mohammad Hossain, Councilor of Ward No. 57 Mohammad Saidul Islam, Councilor of reserved women's seat Shefali Akter, President of Kamrangirchar Thana Awami League Abul Kashem Sarkar and President of Ward No. 55 Awami League Ramsh was present among others.
