Professor Emeritus Dr Winfried Erich Hubert Blum of the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences of Vienna, Austria called on Dhaka University (DU) Vice-Chancellor (VC) Professor Dr Md Akhtaruzzaman on Monday at the latter’s office of the university.
Chairman of the Department of Soil, Water and Environment of DU Profesor Dr Khalilur Rahman and Professor Dr AHM Mostafizur Rahman were present on this occasion.
During the meeting they stressed the need for rational use of soil to protect natural environment. They discussed the possibilities of undertaking joint collaborative academic and research programmes by DU and the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences of Vienna, Austria.
It may be mentioned that Professor Emeritus Dr Winfried Erich Hubert Blum is now on a visit to Bangladesh to attend the founding anniversary programme of the Department of Soil, Water and Environment of DU.
