Actor Maznun Mizan is regularly working on the small screen and big. His new movie ‘Gondi’ is set to release tomorrow, February 7. A Mizan writes about this film directed by Fakhrul Arefin Khan and other contexts talking to Maznun Mizan.
‘Gondi’, starring you, is being released tomorrow. Want to know about the movie-
Speaking of ‘Gondi’, I want to say first of all that this is a completely new kind of movie for Bangladesh audiences. Audiences of Bangladesh have not seen this kind of story before.
Will the audience watch the film for a new story?
Along with the new story, they will also get to see the chemistry between Suborna Mustafa and Sabyasachi Chakraborty. The music is really rich; they will get to hear that. I believe the audience will enjoy the movie in general. I don’t want to say just for the sake of saying it. Really the audience will be comfortable watching the movie.
How is your character?
In this story Sabyasachi Chakraborty plays the character of my father. I live in London with my wife and my only child. A little crisis takes place here. That’s why we come back to the country to resolve it and then we leave again. My wife dominates me a lot. Again, she has a lot of respect and affection for father. I try to manage everyone from being in the middle.
How much do you think the kind of story that this movie is based upon will impact the audience after seeing it?
It will have a profound effect because friendship is a strong word. Friendship can happen between a boy-girl, or between husband-wife. The story of friendship is told in the film. I believe our audience will find a new definition of friendship. We have some humbleness and limitations, socially. That humbleness is set here.
How is the experience of working with Sabyasachi Chakraborty?
At first, I was in awe. We know Sabyasachi Chakraborty as Feluda, he is a very big actor. He is a very senior actor and a big star. He may be very serious. After being introduced to him while working, I saw that he is very friendly and cooperative. He has contributed a lot in the field of work. The bigger the man, the more humble he becomes. Simple communication, easy living, easy presenting yourself is not an easy task. I have learned a lot from seeing Sabyasachi Chakraborty. He helps a lot with great sincerity. The four main characters in our film are Suborna Mustafa, Sabyasachi Chakraborty, Aparna Ghosh and myself. Everyone’s background is theater. So every human being is of the same mindset. Hopefully, that reflection will be on the screen as well.
This is the first time that you have worked with Suborna Mustafa on the big screen through this movie. How do you feel?
My relationship with Suborna is very close. I worked with her a lot. My relationship with her is like an older sister and younger brother. I hadn’t shared the screen with her in movies before. However, we have worked together on many dramas on television. I also worked on stage with her. She is a very big actress. When acting with her, I feel gravely humbled.
What about working in other movies?
‘Mission Extreme’ shooting is over. The dubbing is underway. It is directed by Sunny Sarwar and Faisal Ahmed. I also finished the movie of Mir Sabbir Ahmed’s ‘Raat Jaga Phool’. Some more new films are in the works. I want to do these once everything gets settled.
