ATU arrest two members of Allahr Dal

Anti-Terrorism Unit on early Sunday arrested two members of banned terrorist organization Allahr Dal from Dinajpur district.

Getting secrete information, a team of ATU raided at Kotowali Upazil of the district and made the arrest, ATU officials said on  Monday.

The Islamist terrorists outfit were holding a secret meeting at a house near Saint Philips High School at Pulhat Kosba area under Kotowali Police Station of the district.

Later a team of the ATU, the specialized unit of Bangladesh Police to combat militancy , raided at the militant den and arrested two active members of Allahr Dal at around 2:20 am Sunday.

They were primarily identified as Md Ali Akash,36, son of  Moksed Ali, hailing from Pulhat area of Dinajpur Sadar Upazila and Md Shahabul Islam,40, son of late Kefatullah Miah, hailing from Kosba area of the same district.

During their primary interrogation, they admitted that they were active members of the banned militant organization. Among the two arrestees, Akash is the head of Gazipur and Narsingdi district’s Allahr Dal.

Another arrested terrorist Shahabul was in-charge of Dinajpur district.

ATU personnel seized four mobile phones, huge jihadist materials and some organizational papers from their possessions.

They were planning to hatch conspiracy to cerate anarchy and destabilize the government by carrying militant attacks targeting important installations and persons of the country.

A case was filed against them under the anti-terrorism act with Dinajpur Sadar Police Station.
