Attempts have been made to kidnap Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Science and Technology University(BSMRSTU) campus journalist Fatema-Tuz-Zinnia.The incident took place in front of Gopalganj DC residence on Friday. The victim journalist is a third year student of law department of the university. The student has filed a General Diary(GD) at Gopalganj Sadar Police Station seeking safety of life.
Fatema-Tuz-Zinia said, "I was returning to Nabinbagh from Islampara under Gopalganj Sadar on Friday. Around 8:15 PM, on the main road between the DC office and the municipality, two persons with bikes forcibly stopped my rickshaw and they tried to lift the bike by force. I ran and took a position in a restaurant.Later I make a General Diary(GD) at the Gopalganj sadar police station."
"I can't say for sure who did this. However, as a journalist, news is often written against many. I think one of them may have done such a thing." Zinia said.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) Gopalganj Sadar Police Station, Md. Monirul Islam said, "We sent the police there immediately after the student made a general diary. The matter is being investigated. Those involved in this incident will be brought under the law soon."
