Awami League (AL) General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader has said the attackers want to destroy all achievements of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
He was talking to reporters after visiting damaged Setu Bhaban in Dhaka city's Banani area on Saturday.
Quader said the footage of vandals had been provided to the law enforcers.
They went to attack the Padma Bridge for two times and they wanted to destroy all achievements of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, he said.
The Prime Minister feels pain seeing these destructions, he went on. The general students never carried out these violent activities, he said. About metro rail, Quader said general people were now suffering a lot. It was unknown when the metro rail would resume operation, he added.
