Attackers on Hindu community are our enemies: JnUTA President

Jagannath University Teachers' Association (JnUTA) has organized a human chain on Monday, to protest the terrorist attacks on Hindu religionists in different parts of the country, including Shalla in Sunamganj.

Speakers at the human chain, organized in front of the university’s Bhasha Shahid Rafiq Bhaban, condemned the attack in Sunamganj. They called those, who had been attacking Hindu community in different parts of the country as anti-independence forces.

They demanded the trial of these miscreants by bringing them under the customary law of the country.

JnUTA President Prof. Dr. Nur E Alam Abdullah said, "Those who were attacked in Shalla in Sunamganj are our brothers and sisters." “In Bangabandhu's non-communal Bengal, those who are attacking these minorities are our enemies. They want to destabilize the country by thwarting the golden jubilee of independence.  We, the educated society strongly condemn.”

Acting Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof Kamaluddin Ahmed said “A class of people, in the name of religion since 1971, has been involved in the anti-independent activities including the assassination of Bangabandhu.”

“They are intensifying the fundamentalists in the country at different times with their help. We demand the government to take strict action against them.”, he added.

Meanwhile, Secretary of JnUTA Prof. Dr. Shamina Begum conducted the Human Chain. Members of JnUTA, Nil Dal, Proctor, Assistant Proctors, Deans, Chairmen of different departments and teachers were present.
