Freedom fighters and locals have formed a human chain in Meherpur to protest against the vandalism of the house of the late freedom fighter Ramzan Ali Sheikh.
The human chain program was held on the road in front of the Deputy Commissioner's office on Sunday. Captain Abdul Malek, a heroic freedom fighter, led the procession. Halecha Khatun, wife of freedom fighter Ramzan Ali, Sultan Hossain, Shahidul Hossain spoke on behalf of the family and freedom fighters, family members and locals spoke on the procession.
Halecha Khatun, wife of the late Ramzan Ali, alleged in the human chain that on the morning of February 26, her neighbors attacked us, led by Chinibas and Minarul Mandal, over a land dispute in Monakhali village of Mujibnagar upazila.
At that time they vandalized the windows and main gate of the house. There were allegations of physical humiliation. Even after such an attack, they are still roaming around in public. They are constantly threatening the family. They have also filed a case in the court in this regard. The family demanded the arrest of attackers and brought under the law as soon as possible.
In his speech, Captain Abdul Malek, a heroic freedom fighter, said that if the family of a freedom fighter is humiliated in this way then where they will go. We want all the freedom fighters of the district to unite and stand by the family of the tortured freedom fighters. He request the concern authorities to arrest those who attacked the house of late freedom fighter Ramzan Ali. Otherwise we will be forced to give strict program.
