The automated teller machine (ATM) of a booth of Dutch-Bangla Bank Limited (DBBL) at Sailkupa town in Jhenidah went out of order from Friday last. The situation has thrown thousands of subscribers in to trouble ahead of the Eid-ul-Fitr as they are not in a position.
The authorities had furnished (!) their duties hanging the notice saying they are sorry for the inconveniences. The ATMs are also showing the machine was “out of order”.
A number of subscribers said they were in trouble when the machines were showing they were out of order as they could not withdraw money from the booths in last four days. A vendor in the upazila head quarters said he could not transact his trade for want of money since Friday. He could not follow alternative way as there was no branch of the bank in the upazila headquarters at Sailkupa.
DBBL Alternate Delivery Channel (ADC) Sailkupa both senior executive Tilok Ray when contacted said they do not have any alternative to this booth as it happened due to internet troubles.
He had informed the matter to authorities concern immediate after the mis-happening on Friday morning. The situation might continue for another four to five days. The same situation was prevailing at some other spots throughout the district, Tilok Ray added.
