Thousands of devotees of the Hindu community hailed from home and abroad performed their religious belief to be sin free bathed in the river Brammaputra river under Bandar upazila in the district from 9.11 pm on Friday to 11.8 am of Saturday.
To perform the ritual program of the Hindu community peacefully the district administration and district police had arranged a massive security blanket around the three kilometers area of the spot.
Additional district magistrate Ismat Ara told the media that ten executive magistrate were deployed for each in per two snan (bath) ghat.
Additional police super Mostafizur Rahman said that one thousand and five hundred law enforcers were deployed for the security measure.
The snan (bath) committee chief Soroj Kumar Shaha with pleasure told that the initiatives are too much to remain secure.
After two years were not observed the Astomi snan due to covid-19 and thus the rush of devotees rose than other years, the organizers assumed.
The administration set up twenty ghats for bathing, medical camp, temporary toilets,tubewells, CCTV camera,checkpost and watch tower.
After concluding bathing as the home goers on the road a nineteen kilometers tailback of transport created on Dhaka-Chattogram highway.
