An assistant headmaster has been suspended for making false allegations against teacher creating obstacle for applying for the post of assistant headmaster. Tk 20 lakh has been demanded from the teachers in the name of appointment to that post.
It has been alleged that the headmaster Dayaram Saha and the outgoing president of the managing committee Abdul Mannan Muhuri are intimidating and harassing the assistant teacher Saima Yasmin in various ways for refusing to pay the money. The victim's assistant teacher Saima Yasmin made the allegation at a press conference held at the Press Club auditorium on Sunday afternoon. The incident took place at Trimohini High School in Raninagar upazila of the district.
She mentioned in a written statement that a notification was published in the newspaper for the appointment of Assistant Headmaster on 17 November 2021. As part of his plan to prevent Saima Yasmin from applying for the post, she was shocked on November 14, 2021 by exposing a fabricated and baseless incident.
Even after giving theproof, the salary allowance was stopped by dismissing the first and second without any protest. Later, in a blank resolution, the victim took the signatures of all the teachers including the assistant teacher and carried out the process of suspension. As part of this, when she appeared at the school on December 30, 2021, she was not allowed to sign the attendance register.
Saima Yasmin informed the Upazila Nirbahi Officer and Secondary Education Officer about this. He later claimed that he was absent from school from January 1, 2022 to January 18, 2022, despite being present at the school every day, but in the 16 years since he entered the service, there has been no rule or show cause in the name of that teacher and he has been working with reputation.
On the other hand, if the assistant teacher files a case against him for permanent dismissal, the court will ban him. Meanwhile, according to a judgment of the High Court's Ret Petition No. 3758/2015 and a directive of the 694 memorandum dated August 8, 2017 of the Joint Secretary of the Secondary and Higher Education Department of the Ministry of Education, if he is suspended for more than 60 days, she will be paid salary and all other allowances. Following this instruction, he went to the headmaster of the school and was expelled from the school. In a written statement, he listed the irregularities and corruption committed by the headmaster of the school and the chairman of the managing committee in collusion, saying he had taken Tk 8,000 from him and Tk 50,000 from assistant teacher Nazrul Islam to resolve the time scale. Ashtimuddin's bachelor's job was not completed and another Tk 50,000 was accepted by promising to give his son a job in that post. Former president Alamgir Alam Bobby left Rs 6 lakh in the school fund but there is no account of how that money was spent. Although there is a rule to give a small allowance from the teachers' education fund, it has not been given for the last 8 years. The bank has embezzled Tk 50,000 in 2020, Tk 110,000 in December 2021 and a lot of money from students in various sectors including session fees.
