ASSL-BIWTA sign deal for dredger supply

Ananda Shipyard and Slipways Limited (ASSL) has signed an agreement with Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Authority (BIWTA) for the supply of dredgers.

As per the agreement, ASSL will have to supply two 24 inch cutter suction dredgers within 18 months. BIWTA will provide Tk 212.60 crore to ASSL for this work. ASSL was given the task of supplying dredgers under the 'Procurement of 35 Dredgers and Support Vehicles and Construction of Necessary Infrastructure Project'.

Ananda Group has signed the agreement at the BIWTA conference room in Motijheel on Wednesday. The agreement was signed by Afruza Bari, Managing Director, ASSL and Abdul Matin, Chief Engineer, BIWTA, Project Director.

At the signing ceremony, BIWTA Chairman Commodore Golam Sadeq said “Ananda Shipyard is a trusted company. There is no question about the quality of their work. The organization's relationship with BIWTA is also old for good work. I hope that this will further strengthen the relationship between the two organizations through their work.”

Afroza Bari, Managing Director of Ananda Group, said that ASSL has already taken a special place in the country and abroad with its quality work. ASSL never compromised on the quality of work. It will maintain that continuity in this work of dredger supply.”

Project Director Abdul Matin called for completing the work of dredger supply within the stipulated time while maintaining quality standards.

ASSL Group Deputy Managing Director Abdullah Nahid Nigar, Executive Director Engineer Tariqul Islam, Director (Technical) Saiful Islam, Director Abdullah Nazma Nowroz, Project Co-ordinator Mahbubul Raihan and others were present on the occasion.
