ABM Mostakim and Shambhujit Mondal have been elected the President and the General Secretary respectively at the triennial council-2019 of Ashashuni upazila unit of Awami League in Satkhira on Saturday.
The triennial council was held at Ashashuni Technical Training Centre with ABM Mostakim, President of upazila AL and Chairman of the Ashashuni Upazila Parishad, in the chair.
Dr. AFM Ruhul Haque, MP, former Health Minister, attended the council as the chief guest, while the inaugural session of the council was addressed, among others, by Monsur Ahmed, President of Satkhira district AL, Nazrul Islam, General Secretary of district AL, SM Kamal Hossain, Executive Member of AL central committee, Mir Mostaque Ahmed Robi MP, Vice-President of district AL, Engineer Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, former President of district AL, Asaduzzaman Babu, Sadar Upazila Chairman and Sheikh Harun-ur-rashid. AL leader Shahidul Islam Pintu conducted the programme.
At the second session of the conference, the names of president and general secretary were declared.
