Art exhibition titled ‘Dana’ begins at CU

Chittagong University Institute of Fine Arts and Ultramarine jointly organized a three-day exhibition titled 'Dana' of artist 'Shilpi Murtaza Bashir Memorial Scholarship 2021' at the artist Rashid Chowdhury Art Gallery in CU Institute of Fine Arts.

 Chittagong University Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Shireen Akhtar inaugurated the exhibition as the chief guest on Wednesday afternoon.  CU Pro Vice-Chancellor (Academic) Professor Benu Kumar Dey, CU Fine Arts Institute Professor Dr. Mohammad Dhali Al Mamun, artist Murtaza Bashir's daughter Muniza Bashir were present as special guests.  The program was presided over by Professor Pranab Mitra Chowdhury, Director of CU Institute of Arts and Lecturer Hulu Bai Shu Chowdhury.  Professor Zaheed Ali Chowdhury, Warden of Shilpi Rashid Chowdhury Hostel gave a welcome speech.  On behalf of Ultramarine, artist Murtaza Bashir's son-in-law Kayes Chowdhury and artist Laila Mansoor spoke.

 CU Syndicate Member Prof. Dr. Mohammad Khairul Islam, Registrar (Acting) Prof. SM Monirul Hasan, teachers, students of the institute were present on the occasion.

  CU VC said that this kind of arrangement will surely motivate the students of the institute.  An artist brings out the latent talents and thoughts of his mind through paint.  As the artist enjoys self-satisfaction;  The audience also enjoys it.

 CU VC urged the students of fine arts to develop themselves through continuous acquisition of knowledge.  Later toured the exhibition with the guests.

 The scholarship students are, Nipa Munasila, Kausar Mia, Kirti Saha and Sajeev Kumar Dey.  The exhibition will be open to all from 11 am to 6 pm.
