Sanatani Oikya Parishad Bangladesh (SOPB) has demanded the arrest of those involved with Manusher Jonno Foundation (MJF), allegedly for creating divisions in the Hindu community, conspiring to wipe out the Hindu community, attempting to reform traditional Hindu law by violating the constitution, creating chaos by pitting the Hindu community against the government, and for trying to tarnish the government's image internationally.

They made the demand at a roundtable discussion at the National Press Club on Friday morning in protest against the attempts by some NGOs and vested interests to change the traditional family law.

Advocate Shri Shankar Chandra Das, general secretary of the Hindu Lawyers’ Association said, “Some people including Mahfuz Anam, Shaheen Anam, Angela Gomez and Manusher Jonno Foundation want to change our religion. We have many other problems but they don’t talk about those. These people do not even understand Hinduism.”

“He is conspiring to uproot the Hindu community from this country. One and a half crore Hindus of this country have risen up against his conspiracy. We are urging Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to arrest all those involved with Manusher Jonno Foundation.

Otherwise, we will go for stricter movement”, he added.

Advocate DL Roy Chowdhury said, “These people were once associated with the Communist Party. They are now playing tricks to destabilize the country in the name of reforming the law of the Hindu community.”
