Army’s patrol, food support on at remote Cox’s Bazar villages

Members of the Bangladesh Army are delivering relief goods to people trapped due to the coronavirus situation in various remote areas of the district.

The government has announced a general holiday to deal with the outbreak of the worldwide epidemic of the corona virus. At the same time, the district administration has instructed not to leave the house without urgent need and to close all kind of business establishments except certain shops in case of emergency. 

As part of keeping the people aware of this the situation, the 10th Infantry Division of the Bangladesh Army has continued its activities under the slogan "Everyone's well-being is our Motto" to co-operate with the civil administration in the tourist city of Cox's Bazar district and four Upazilas of greater Chittagong district.

The army is playing an important role in raising awareness about the corona, providing medical assistance, conducting disinfection activities and implementing lockdowns, as well as delivering food aid to marginalized people by saving their own rations. In overcoming this crisis, they are trying their best to stay by the side of the very poor people. 

Apart from this, it has been carrying out various activities including distribution of Musks for public safety, distribution of sanitizer, sprinkling clean water in the streets with army vehicles, spraying disinfectants in vehicles entering  Cox's Bazar in case of emergency and miking in areas for creating  public awareness.

In continuation of this, the army members of Ramu Cantonment has delivered relief to the unemployed and poor people by maintaining social distance in the remote areas of the district even today. 

They have sacrificed their rations in the service of suffering-humanity and have gone from house to house delivering daily necessities including rice, pulses, flour, potatoes, onions, oil, salt to the real needy, marginalized and helpless people. 

Army personnel are urging people not to leave their homes unnecessarily in order to increase their knowledge and awareness on how to prevent the spread of the coronavirus worldwide. In addition, they are urged to adhere to a variety of hygiene practices, including more frequent hand washing, max use, and maintaining social distance. 

Besides, the army medical team provided first aid to the helpless people in Ramu Upazila and Pekua Upazila and also distributed chips and chocolates to the children.

According to Ramu Cantonment sources, the army will try their best to fulfill the responsibility given to them as per the government directives to deal with the coronavirus. Inspired by patriotism, they have completed preparations for the service of humanity just like during the war. 

The Bangladesh Army has been playing a leading role in all kinds of activities in the interest of the country and this cooperation will continue in the future as well.
