Indian Army has given ten trained dogs as gift to the Bangladesh Army. The dogs arrived from India through Benapole border on Wednesday noon and were handed over to the Benapole ICP BGB camp at that time.

Colonel RK Sajed of Chasara Cantonment of Kolkata handed over the dogs to Bangladesh Army’s Lieutenant Colonel Mizanur Rahman. Earlier, on December 7 last year, India gave ten trained trained dogs.

Benapole ICP BGB camp commander Subedar Abdul Wahab said the dogs were first brought to the Chasara cantonment in Kolkata from the Mirat Cantonment of India. Later, the dogs were handed over to the Bangladesh Army from Petrapole BSF camp at about 11:30 pm on Wednesday.

The dogs are capable of detecting drugs and abusers, Lt. Colonel Mizanur Rahman said. These dogs are first of the 30 that will be given to Bangladesh Army. The second shipment of eight dogs came to Bangladesh very soon.
