Army launches disinfection drive in Rangamati

In a bid to build awareness among the common people about the deadly Coronavirus and keeping the environment safe from the possible spread of this virus, Bangladesh army units from Rangamati region launched a programme of spraying water based disinfectants in different roads, educational institutions and important public places in the town on Saturday.

Water was sprayed on the main roads at Vedvedi, College Gate, Devashisnagar, Rajbari, Banarupa, Old Bus Stand area, Reserve Bazaar and Tabalchhari areas. Disinfectants were also sprayed by army at various lanes and alleys and in the town and at important public places like Rangamati medical college and different education institutions.

Moreover, dried food (flattened and puffed rice, biscuit and noodles) were distributed among hundred ultra-poor people both Bengali and ethnic in the town on Saturday. People have been asked with loud speakers during the water spray programme to maintain social distancing, stay at home and not to go out of their respective residences without urgency. G-2 (i) Maj Mohiuddin Faruqui from Rangamati region and Maj Habibullah Khan of 20 infantry brigade led the programme.
