Army chief General SM Shafiuddin Ahmed on Tuesday conferred medals to twenty six army personnel for their peacetime contributions and heroics in 2020-21 marking the Armed Forces Day 2021.
According to the ISPR, out of them, six army personnel received an “Oshamanno Sheba Padak”.
Twenty others received a “Bishishto Seba Padak” for their heroics.
General SM Shafiuddin Ahmed also accorded a reception for the gallantry award winner freedom fighters of Bangladesh and their families in recognition of their contribution in the War of Independence at the Army Multipurpose Complex, in Dhaka Cantonment.
During the conclusion of the programme, the army chief exchanged greetings with the gallantry award winner freedom fighters and their relatives. General SM Shafiuddin Ahmed also talked to the awarded army personnel.
Senior army officials from army headquarters and Dhaka cantonment were also present in the programme, said ISPR hand out.
