Army Aviation School to be shifted to Lalmonirhat

The Army Aviation School is going to be shifted to Lalmonirhat district from the capital Dhaka. Bangladesh Army is constructing new and modern infrastructures in Lalmonirhat for the school. Army Chief General Aziz Ahmed made the disclosure while addressing a programme in the district on Monday.

Earlier, Gen Aziz inaugurated Army Aviation School at Lalmonirhat Airport. He said, “All pilots, engineers and cabin crews of Bangladesh Army will get training on fourteen different trades through the Army Aviation School.” The Chief of Army also laid the foundation stones of several structures including officers mess, SM barrack, a modern and automated milking parlour for Lalmonirhat Military Farm.

General Aziz also inaugurated a newly built helipad. “The need of increasing training has also increased as the numbers of army helicopters were increased,” he added. This is also needed for implementing vision 2030 of the government, he further said. Major General Md Alamgir Hossain of Army Aviation Group also addressed the programme.

Lieutenant General Md Shamsul Haque, Quarter Master General of Bangladesh Army, Master General of Ordinance Major General Md Abu Sayed Siddique, Rangpur GOC Major General Md Nazrul Islam, Lalmonirhat DC Abu Zafar, Police Super Abida Sultana and Zila Parishad Chairman Advocate Md Motiar Rahman, among others, were present.
