Application for JU admission begins on June 1

The online application for admission into first-year honours programmes at Jahangirnagar University (JU) under 2020-21 academic sessions will begin on June 1 and will continue till June 15.   

Due to the COVID-19 outbreak,  this year the application process will be in two steps. At first, the university authorities will receive the preliminary application from the admission seekers from June 1 to June 15. Then, the university will receive the final application from the preliminarily selected students. 

The preliminary application fee has been fixed at Tk 55.

After scrutinizing the preliminary application, the qualified students have to submit the final application. It's mentionable that, the final applications will be taken on the basis of student GPA's obtained in Higher Secondary or equivalent examinations. 

The first phase of the final application will continue from June 24 to June 29 and the second phase will continue from July 1 to July 6.

While contacted, JU Pro Vice-Chancellor(administration)  Prof. Amir Hussain said, “No date has been fixed yet for the test. After taking the application form, the test will be taken by monitoring the condition of the COVID-19. Shift-based tests will be taken as before. A total of 4,500 candidates will be able to take part in each shift following the hygiene rules.”

“The fee for 4 faculties (A,B,C and D unit)  has been fixed at Tk1100  whereas Tk 500 has been fixed for other faculties and institutions”, he added.
