The application process has started for admission in the first-year Bachelor/Graduate (Honours) class in the academic year 2023-2024 in various departments of engineering colleges and agricultural colleges and institutes affiliated with Rajshahi University.
Applicants have to attend the entrance test. Application for admission to 1400 seats starts on Wednesday, April 17. Applications will continue until May 20; the last time to submit an application 12:00 p.m. Admission tests will be held at the Rajshahi University campus. The application fee of Tk 660 (including service charge) has to be paid through mobile banking.
Students who have passed the HSC/equivalent examination in 2021 and subsequent years can apply for admission. Students who have passed the SSC/equivalent examination in 2017 and subsequent years can apply for admission. Candidates should have a higher secondary or equivalent examination in the science section, including physics, chemistry, mathematics, and biology.
In both SSC and HSC examinations, candidates must have a total GPA of 7 with a minimum GPA of 3 in the 4th subject. For students passing the Diploma in Engineering/Agriculture/Fisheries/Food and Nutritional Science/Health/Nursing, the GPA obtained should be converted from a 4 to a 5 scale to determine eligibility. A GPA less than 2.6 on a scale of 4 in the diploma examination cannot be applied.
Only students who have passed HSC/Equivalent and HSC (Vocational) under the Bangladesh Technical Education Board of 2021, 2022, and 2023 can apply. GCE A level examination must be passed in five subjects and an O level examination in at least two subjects. Applicants who have passed the O Level, A Level, and English Version (National Curriculum) examinations must have their questions translated into English where applicable. Candidates intending to appear on an English paper must select English as the language of the paper while applying online. Otherwise, the English question paper will not be supplied.
The engineering colleges are Rangpur Engineering College, Rangpur, TMSS Engineering College, Bogra, Pabna Engineering College, Pabna, Imperial College of Engineering, Khulna, Asharya Engineering College, Rajshahi, and KSFL Engineering College, Dinajpur. Total seats are 560 in these 6 educational institutions.
Agricultural colleges and institutes are the International Institute of Applied Science and Technology, Rangpur; Henry Institute of Bioscience and Technology, Sirajganj; Varendra Institute of Biosciences, Natore; Udayan College of Bioscience and Technology, Rajshahi; Graduate Institute of Agriculture and Technology, Kushtia; Shaheed Shasuzzaman Institute of Biosciences, Katakhali, Rajshahi.
Total seats are 840 in these six educational institutions. The application starts on April 17 at 4 p.m. The application closes on April 25 at 12 p.m. Entrance Test: June 8, 12 noon to 1 pm.
The admissions test will be conducted in MCQ mode. The exam has a total of 100 marks. The number of questions is 80.
