Armed Police Battalion (APBn) nabbed a fraud ring leader from the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in the capital Dhaka.
He was identified as Md Jabed,who is the ring leader in swindling passengers and visitors from country’s main international airport.
APBn Additional Superintendent of Police Mohammad Ziaul Haque confirmed it on Wednesday.
He said that APBn nabbed Jabed from the airport area on Tuesday midnight. Later he was handed over to the Airport police station.
He further said Jabed was cheating passengers in various ways in the airport area for a long time.
According to the APBn official,there are several cases against him such as disappearing with passengers' money over dollar sales, sneaking away with passports and travel documents, extorting money from passengers' relatives, and threatening people introducing himself as a police officer.
Earlier, Jabed was arrested at least four times on various charges and APBn took action. But after releasing from jail, he was again involved in the same forgery. Jabed has also established an airport-based network.
