The Election Commission (EC) is set to announce the schedule of 12th Jatiya Sangsad (JS) election anytime while country’s different political parties are taking all kinds of preparations for joining the poll.

A favourable situation is now prevailing across the country to go ahead with election preparation. However, we are noticing that some elements and influential persons are now desperate to create unrest in the country with a target to foil the upcoming general election at any cost.

When miscreants are setting buses and other vehicles on fire at different places of the country amid ongoing blockade enforced by BNP-Jamaat and its like-minded political parties, some identified influential persons allegedly are now very active in plotting against the country and government as well. They are holding secret meetings to sketch a blue print according to their anti-state plans.

Like in the past, they have already stepped up their ill-efforts to overthrow the government of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina as poll approaches and install a dictator being imbued with the anti-liberation thought. They are misleading the country’s people and Bangladesh foreign friends in many ways, according to media reports.

BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman, convicted in several cases including that of the sensational August 21 grenade attack, staying in London, is maintaining constant communication with the high profile plotters. Tarique Rahman, also the elder son of BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia, now convicted in graft case, has been living in London for the last 16 years. These elements led by Tarique Rahman are also helping the organised evil forces comprising several vested quarters and extreme communal groups incited by the anti-liberation forces and killers of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, and their patrons in order to make Bangladesh a failed country.

It is very clear that the goals of these forces are to make the Liberation War controversial and thus ultimately hit the country’s independence, sovereignty and democratic process. So, it is feared that a deep-rooted anti-state plot is on to make the country destabilise ahead of the national polls at any cost.

They (identified influential persons) want to establish pro-Pakistan values and spirit replacing the existing one and make controversy over the country's independence and sovereignty. Ignoring moral responsibility, many of them are trying to tarnish the reputation of the country by publishing misleading information. There is no doubt that many stories run by some identified dailies are part of an international conspiracy. On the other hand, some vested interest groups are also instigating the RMG workers to continue the ongoing movement aimed at creating unrest in the sector.

Our country struggled to establish the democratic process and free fair elections here, and that free and fair election was only held during the Awami League regime. There was no democracy, no democratic rights, so the ruling Awami League struggled to establish democracy in our country.

We believe all will refrain from giving any provocation in holding fair elections and creating any disorder in our country. The next general elections will be held in this country the way polls are being held in other countries of the world.

Bangladesh will never bow down to any pressure rather the country will move ahead with the strength of people. If this country goes to some other hands, it will start witnessing killing, crimes, anti-liberation forces, terrorism, militancy and corruption again. The incidents of killings in the country will surface again, deviating from the right track if it goes to someone else’s hands. The government must punish those who are engaged in such heinous plot against the country and the government staying at home and abroad.

Such evil forces must not be spared at all though they are getting mercy now.
