Land Minister Saifuzzaman Chowdhury Javed said, "Under the leadership of Bangabandhu's daughter Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, the ongoing projects of the country including Padma Bridge, Metro Rail and Bangabandhu Tunnel have advanced the country's transportation system a long way. The development will go further in the future. Bangladesh is now a role model in South Asia. Once we were behind Pakistan, now Pakistan is behind us. Still, an anti-national group is conspiring to stop the development progress of the country.
He said these things in the speech of the chief guest at the distribution of vans and sewing machines among the poor people organized at Chattogram Engineers Institution Auditorium on Saturday morning.
He said, "During the election, an anti-national faction started the politics of lying about the development progress of the country." There is no point in lying now. The progress of the country should be hunted, because it is visible and the people are reaping the benefits.
On the occasion, vans were distributed to 70 poor people and sewing machines to 105 people.
Chattogram Association of Dhaka Chairman Zainul Abedin Jamal, Former Election Commissioner and former president of Chattogram Association Mohammad Abdul Mubarak, Chattogram Zilla Parishad Chairman ATM Pearul Islam spoke as special guests.
Numerous beneficiaries including print and electronic media journalists were present on the occasion.
