While the country is celebrating its golden jubilee and 101st birthday of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, some communal forces backed by the vested quarters are trying to tarnish the image of the country by attacking the minority communities.
However, a section of people (BNP-Jamaat) are also involved in this process to gain their own interests. A vested quarter is trying to disturb the communal harmony in the country and they have resorted to various tactics and ploys to cover up their political bankruptcy.
Unless and until we totally uproot these radical
forces from the country they will constantly try
to tarnish the country’s image
The government should now take stern action against those who were involved in the Sunamganj minority attack incident and set an example so that no one can even dare commit such heinous crime in the name of religion.
According to a report published in this newspaper on Tuesday, when the government was set to install a sculpture of Bangabandhu at the city’s Dholaipar, communal forces like Hefajat-e-Islam along with anti-liberation forces took to the streets against the government decision.
Those who are making their evil attempts to create instability in the country by focusing on Bangabandhu’s sculpture should also be resisted with an iron hand. Our law enforcement agencies should conduct strict monitoring so that these hate crimes do not spread.
We know that under the visionary leadership of our premier the anti liberation and communal forces are not active like before. However, unless and until we totally uproot these radical forces from the country they will constantly try to tarnish the country’s image.
