10-day basic training course for the Ansar and village defense party (VDP) personnel was inaugurated at Harinakundu of Jhenaidah on Sunday.
Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Syeda Nafis Sultana inaugurated the programme as chief guest at Narayankandi high school premises.
UNO Sultana in her inaugural session the said a section of young generation in almost all the areas were addict in drug and other anti-social elements.
Further, dowry, divorce, eve teasing and some other social crimes were increased alarmingly. Awareness among the guardians as well as educating the adolescent girls and boys about the demerits of the evil doings, might help reduce the crisis.
Describing this sort of troubles among most of the disadvantaged and needy families, Nafis said the family members might reduce the poverty partially cultivating vegetables and fruits on their homestead which also help meet the safe food demand of the people.
