An inmate named Dilip Kumar Biswas (47), who was a convict of Chuadanga District Jail died. Two people who were detained in Chuadanga District Jail died within 24 days.
He died while undergoing treatment at Chuadanga Sadar Hospital around 12:30 pm on Saturday (March 16). Dilip Kumar Biswas is the son of Shri Debendranath Biswas of Ashurhati village under Shailkupa Thana of Jhenaidah District. Chuadanga district prison in charge of district Md. Fakhar Uddin confirmed this information.
Earlier on February 21 midnight, Mithu Mia (30), who was detained in the district jail in a theft case, died shortly after being taken to the hospital.
According to Chuadanga District Jail sources, Dilip Kumar was a one-year-sentenced accused in a check fraud case in Jhenaidah. He was transferred to Chuadanga District Jail from Jhenaidah District Jail on March 9 as there was another case in Chuadanga. Dilip Kumar Biswas suddenly fell ill in jail on Friday. Immediately after taking him to the emergency department of Chuadanga Sadar Hospital, the doctor admitted Dilip Kumar to the male medicine ward after first aid. He died while undergoing treatment around 12:30 on Saturday.
Md. of the district in charge. Fakhar Uddin said, according to the doctor, Dilip Kumar Biswas died of stroke. A post-mortem will be conducted after the report is prepared to determine the exact cause of death.
