Andrew Scott's highly anticipated Netflix series "Ripley" premiered on the streaming platform. The eight-episode series, based on characters created by famed author Patricia Highsmith, stars the award-winning actor as the charismatic grifter Tom Ripley, who navigates his way through New York and Italy during the 1960s.

The series follows Ripley's treacherous journey as he is hired by a wealthy industrialist and gets caught up in a web of deceit, fraud, and murder. Alongside Scott, Dakota Fanning stars as Marge Sherwood, while Johnny Flynn takes on the role of Dickie Greenleaf.

"Ripley" is created by writer Steven Zaillian, who serves as showrunner, director, and producer. Scott also takes on a producer role alongside Enzo Sisti. Co-produced by Showtime and Endemol Shine North America in collaboration with Entertainment 360 and Filmrights, the series boasts an impressive lineup of executive producers, including Zaillian, Garrett Basch, Clayton Townsend, Guymon Casady, Ben Forkner, Sharon Levy, and Philipp Keel of Diogenes.

The series is already generating buzz among fans of Highsmith's work and those who have been eagerly awaiting Scott's return to the small screen after his acclaimed performance in "Fleabag." Speaking about the enduring appeal of the character, creator Steven Zaillian remarked to Vanity Fair, "Tom Ripley is a part of our consciousness. Almost 70 years after Highsmith created him, contemporary figures are still being compared to him. He won't go away."

With its star-studded cast, talented creative team, and gripping storyline, "Ripley" is poised to captivate audiences and cement its place as one of Netflix's must-watch series of the year.
