Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan on Monday shared his first look from the much-awaited film “Laal Singh Chaddha”.

With a light pink turban on his head, the man in his early fifties sits inside a train compartment, with an innocent smile that fleets through a thick growth of beard and a handlebar moustache. That is Aamir for you in “Lal Singh Chaddha.” In synch with the photo the actor posted on the social media, he writes the caption “Sat Sri Akaal ji,” in trademark Sikh way of greeting, and introduces himself as “Laal... Laal Singh Chaddha.” The Bollywood movie, an official remake of Hollywood star Tom Hanks' 1994 feature “Forrest Gump”, is being directed by Advait Chandan with Kareena Kapoor Khan in the female lead.

The forthcoming film will pair Aamir and Kareena together again on the screen after a decade with their last joint appearance being in the box-office hit “3 Iditors.”

The poster comes days after he shared a short video clip that revealed the film's logo. The video contained a brief song with the lyrics, “Kya pata hum mein hain kahani, ya hain kahani mein hum.”“Lal Singh Chaddha” was announced by the 54-year-old actor on his birthday in March this year. Aamir, whose last film “Thugs of Hindostan” did not perform well at the box office, had said that he would be losing around a lot of weight for his role in the film.

The new film, a joint production of Viacom18 Motio Pictures and Aamir Khan Productions, hit the big screens on Christmas next year.
