Ambulances, PPE provided for UZ hospital

Two union chairmen in Savar provided two ambulances to the Savar Upazila Health Complex for using these in medical work during coronavirus spread.

Saiful Islam, Chairman of Dhamshona Union Parishad, and Md Shahab Uddin, Chairman of Ashulia Union Parishad, provided the ambulances and handed over to upazila health complex on Thursday. In the meantime, Dhamshina UP chairman also provided 100 pcs of personal protection equipment (PPE) for medical work.

Dr Md Sayemul Huda, upazila health and family planning officer of Savar, told the Bangladesh Post, “I thanked them for coming forward in medical work during this national and global crisis."

He said, “It is now difficult to arrange any ambulance since after coronavirus spread as everyone panic it. So, their contribution will help us to serve the patients well. We will use one of those ambulances for dead body transportation, and another ambulance will be used in suspected patients of Coronavirus.”

Saiful Islam said, “Its our duty to serve people as well as it is a global crisis. So if we do not come forward then it will be much difficult to overcome such situation
