The government has started Aman paddy procurement drive in the district on Saturday, creating much enthusiasm among the farmers, reports BSS.
District food office sources said a total of 5652 metric tons of Aman paddy, 13552 tons of boiled rice, and 562 tons of sunned rice would be procured from the farmers through 11 purchasing centers of the district this season till February 28.
The purchasing rate of Aman paddy was fixed at TK 26 per kg, boiled rice at TK 37 and sunned rice at Tk 36, they said.
