Chattogram City Corporation (CCC) Mayor, Dr. Shahadat Hossain, has announced that the "Amader Chattogram" app, featuring 10 citizen services, will be launched in December. "Through this app, city residents will be able to register all their complaints and seek assistance," he said.

The Mayor made these remarks at the one-year anniversary program of his term, held at the International Convention Center in Kazirdewri on Thursday afternoon.

Addressing the issue of waste management, Dr. Shahadat Hossain stated, "Waste will be converted into biogas and green diesel. A time will come when you will sell waste, and we will give you money. Do not be disappointed. The 70 taka you are now paying for door-to-door waste collection is your investment. It will eventually become free, and you will get money later."

He added, "More than 3,000 tons of waste are generated in the city, and we can collect 2,200 tons. I have launched a door-to-door project. If you are charged more than 70 taka per household, do not pay the extra amount. Inform the City Corporation via Facebook, and I will cancel their license. I am going to produce biogas for the first time in the country here in Chattogram. After a year or a year and a half, I will pay money for collecting garbage. To keep the city clean, we have to collect all the waste. The door-to-door project has enabled us to collect an additional 500 tons of waste this month."

The Mayor also affirmed that there would be no exemptions in collecting commercial holding tax. "It is our right to receive at least 200 crore taka in holding tax from the port. During AJM Nasir’s time, it was reduced from 51 crore taka to 11 crore taka. The matter was smoothed over during Khorshed Alam Sujan’s time and addressed during Mayor Rezaul’s time. I have now started disciplinary proceedings and have shown my resolve."

He said, "We have provided more than three lakh families with citizen cards. We will provide ICT training for the unemployed in Kalurghat. We plan to build a tourism town in Char Bakalia, which will create many jobs. If the monorail project starts, we will be able to provide jobs for 8-10 thousand unemployed people."

The function was presided over by CCC Secretary Mohammad Ashraful Amin. DIG Md. Ahsan Habib Palash, Chattogram WASA MD Monowara Begum, Chattogram Press Club Member Secretary Zahidul Karim Kochi, CMP Commissioner Hasib Aziz, CDA Chairman Engineer Md. Nurul Karim, and Additional Divisional Commissioner (General) Mohammad Nurullah were present as special guests.

A documentary on the mayor’s one-year activities and a development report were unveiled at the function. The mayor also inaugurated a primary health care system.
