Finn Allen, the New Zealand batter, has returned two negative COVID-19 tests and will be integrated back into the team bubble, New Zealand Cricket said on Thursday.

However, they aren’t sure when Allen will be fit to resume playing. He had missed the opening game of the ongoing series against Bangladesh after he tested positive for COVID-19. “It’s great for us. He has been a big part of our squad,” New Zealand head coach Glenn Poknall said.

“Hopefully, he will come as soon as possible but he will have to undergo a couple of (fitness) tests. He will definitely come into consideration, it’s just a matter of when. He is physically fit but we need to assess on what game he comes into the team,” he said.

“He is a very attacking batsman and he had shown that around the world in the shorter format, and he will certainly add a lot of fire in our batting line-up,” he added.

Meanwhile, Matt Henry is in the final day of his routine three-day hotel isolation and will join the team on Friday pending a negative Covid-19 test.
