On the occasion of the Sharadiya Durga Utsav, former General Secretary of Raozan Municipality BNP, Syed Monjurul Haque, and former Councillor of Ward 8, Rezaul Rahim Azam, visited various Durga Puja mandaps in Raozan and exchanged greetings with members of the Hindu community.
On Tuesday, during Ashtami, they visited several mandaps, including Palit Para Shiv Mandir and Ras Bihar Dham Mandir. Also present were former Chairman of Raozan Sadar Union, Faizul Islam Chowdhury Tipu, BNP leader Abu Bakkar Chowdhury, Jubo Dal leader Shahidul Islam, Tapas Dasgupta and others.
Former councillor Rezaul Rahim Azam remarked that whenever oppression and injustice rise in the world, Goddess Durga appears to vanquish evil and restore peace. He noted that Raozan is home to people of all faiths living in communal harmony. This harmony must be upheld at all costs. Any attempts by extremists to disrupt it will be strongly resisted.
BNP leader Syed Monjurul Haque added that BNP activists are vigilantly ensuring that the Durga Puja is celebrated peacefully. He warned that certain groups are trying to provoke unrest within the Hindu community, and urged everyone to stay alert and united against such divisive forces.
