The Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education (DSHE) has directed all educational institutions in the country to create their own official websites by July 31. Institutions that already have websites have been asked to update them with the latest information.
The directive applies to all government and private secondary and higher secondary level educational institutions, as well as regional, district, and upazila-level offices across the country. The notice was issued on Monday afternoon by the EMIS Cell of DSHE.
According to the instruction, many institutions and offices currently lack official websites, while some existing sites remain outdated. As per the Cabinet Division’s order, all educational institutions and offices under the National Information Portal (www.bangladesh.gov.bd) must create their own websites and regularly update them.
To reduce financial expenses, the institutions have been asked not to develop separate websites at additional cost but to build and manage them following the framework prescribed by the National Information Portal.
The directive further stated that each website must include essential information such as institutional profiles, approval and recognition documents, student numbers by class and gender, branch-wise information, names of teachers and staff, class routines, academic syllabi, MPO-related information, contact numbers, address of the information service center, and details of the grievance redress officer.
DSHE has also instructed institutions to upload the links to their newly created or updated websites in the IMS module of the DSHE EMIS portal at www.emis.gov.bd by the July 31 deadline. This move aims to ensure greater transparency, accessibility, and efficient information management within the country’s education sector.
