All services at Nagar Bhaban, the headquarters of Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC), remained suspended as of this morning, with the building still under lock and key.
Several DSCC officials said they arrived at the office but found the gates locked and were forced to return.
DSCC's Public Relations Officer Russell Rahman confirmed, "Like the past few days, Nagar Bhaban remains under lock and key on Sunday as well. As a result, our regular operations remain suspended."
Meanwhile, DSCC employees from various departments and supporters of Ishraque Hossain held a protest march at the premises in the morning, demanding his immediate swearing-in as mayor.
Arif Chowdhury, president of the DSCC Workers' Union, said that all citizen services at the main office have been suspended since May 17 and the situation remains unchanged.
The ongoing demonstration began on May 14.
The Local Government Division office, also located within Nagar Bhaban, has been closed since May 15. Local Government Adviser Asif Mahmud Shojib Bhuiyan has reportedly been unable to attend office since then.
