Orders have been given to close all the tourist spots in Bandarban from Thursday as a precaution to prevent coronavirus infection in the district.
Deputy Commissioner of Bandarban issued the directives and urged tourists not to come to Bandarban. The residential hotel, motels have also been directed not to keep any tourists. Besides, tourists currently staying in Bandarban have been instructed to leave the district.
Additional Deputy Commissioner of Bandarban Shamim Hossain said that no one has been infected with coronavirus in the district yet. Tourists are being discouraged from coming to Bandarban to maintain this condition. For this reason, all tourist destinations have been closed down including Meghla, Nilachol, Nilgiri and Shorno Mondir.
The tourists are not being allowed to enter the upazilas as well. Ruma Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Shamsul Alam said tourist destinations in Ruma upazila like Bogalek, Keokradong and Tazingdong have been closed down to prevent the virus from spreading.
