AL wins 2 Meherpur seats

Awami League candidate and State Minister for Public Administration Farhad Hossain won the Meherpur-1 seat and Dr Abu Saleh Mohammad Nazmul Haque Sagar won the Meherpur 2 seat.  Their nearest rivals were independent candidates of Awami League.

Farhad Hossain won the Meherpur-1 constituency consisting of Meherpur Sadar and Mujibnagar upazila by getting 36621 votes.  He got 94 thousand 303 votes in boat symbol.  His closest rival former Awami League MP Abdul Mannan got 57 thousand 682 votes in the truck symbol.  There are a total of 3 lakh 37 voters in this constituency.  The polling rate is 52.54 percent.

 Bangladesh Awami League candidate Dr. Abu Saleh Mohammad Nazmul Haque Sagar won in Meherpur-2 Constituency which consists of Gangni Upazila only with 23 thousand 135 votes.  He got 72 thousand 728 votes in boat symbol.   His nearest rival was former MP of Awami League Bir Muktijoddha Maqbul Hossain. 

got 49 thousand 593 votes on the truck symbol.  Total 2 lakh 55 thousand 929 votes in this constituency.  The voting rate is 48 percent.
