The Conference of Sreepur municipality unit of Awami League was held at Sreepur in Gazipur on Saturday evening.
Sirazul Islam and Nure Alam Mollah were declared as president and secretary respectively.
Liberation War Affairs Minister AKM Mozammel Haque spoke at the event as the chief guest.
Speaking at the event, AKM Mozammel Haque said that every corrupted persons will be punished. The root of corruption will be removed from the country. The drive against terrorists will be continued, he added.
Ekbal Husain Sabuz, MP for Gazipur-3 constituency, vice president of district Awami League Abu Akter Husain Khan, Haris Uddin Ahmed, Mostafizur Rahman Bulbul, Samsul Alam Prodan, Delour Husain Delo also spoke there.
Later, the committee was declared by the chief guest. A good number of Awami League activists from local areas attended the function with banners and festoons. Anisur Rahman Anis, president of Sreepur municipality unit Awami League presided over the event.
