We applaud the ruling Awami League’s (AL) election manifesto that has been announced for the 12th parliamentary election. We believe if the AL is voted to power, the promises given in the manifesto will be implemented easily like in the past.

This manifesto unveiled by the party President Sheikh Hasina has covered every sector of the country, giving priority to 11 core issues. While announcing the poll manifesto Sheikh Hasina, also Prime Minister of Bangladesh, vowed to build a developed, prosperous and Smart Bangladesh by 2041.

Before every election, AL placed its election pledges and it always kept its election pledges, this is the reality.

The foremost issue is to arrest the price spiral of commodities to keep it within the affordability of people. Other prioritized issues are- establishing discipline in the financial sector, ensuring effectiveness and accountability of the law enforcing agencies, widening employment opportunities for youths, building smart Bangladesh, boosting investment for agricultural mechanization, food processing and industrial development.

The manifesto announced just 10 days before the 12th parliamentary election slated for January 7, is a pragmatic, comprehensive and inclusive one. All key points of the manifesto will expedite the making Bangladesh a smart nation by 2041.

Countrymen believe AL always keeps its promise. The party always works for the welfare of the nation and people are reaping benefit of it.

Keeping in mind its election manifesto, AL government always formulates a five-year plan. And the party implements its plans according to the promises made to the people. The party has implemented the 2014 and 2018 manifestos with great efficiency.

Before every election,

AL placed its election

 pledges and it always

kept its election pledges

Due to the pragmatic and timely steps of the government in the last 15 years, the country’s people are enjoying a better life now. The AL government has been taking the country forward in a planned way to fulfil the wishes of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman since 2009.

The AL government is fulfilling what Bangabandhu had wanted to do for the development of the country and change the fate of the people. According to the plan of Bangabandhu, steps have been taken in various fields including science-based agriculture, expansion of education, improved and people-oriented health services, boosting food production and increase in power generation.

We think this electoral manifesto is also an inclusive pragmatic, comprehensive, inclusive and implementable one that would pave the country to be a smart one by 2041. Highest importance of good governance and employment generation has also been given in it.

Therefore, the manifesto widely reflects the demand and thoughts of our people. The manifesto focuses on transforming Bangladesh into a developed country by 2041 by utilising the unprecedented progress that AL made in the past one and a half decades.

To eradicate the employment crisis, Sheikh Hasina promised of taking a series of programmes, including formulating appropriate policies and programmes to build entrepreneurs, expand the small, medium, and cottage and handloom industries and giving training to youths.

Reducing inflation is not enough for its victims. So, to facilitate the people affected by the inflation, the AL also vowed to expand coverage of the social safety net programmes.

AL, in its manifesto, pledged to strengthen the country's banking sector by recruiting efficient manpower. At the same time the manifesto vowed take stern action against the loan defaulters, which will be acclaimed by the general people.

Noting that declaring zero tolerance policy against corruption is a most important segment of the manifesto where the ruling party vowed to include the issue in textbook. And it will win the hearts of the people.

We also appreciate AL’s pledges over using digital technology, ensuring electricity for all, handling the climate issues, taking the advantages of infrastructural connectivity and increasing inter-nation cooperation. Pledge of building skilled manpower, smart citizens and smart economy will help the country to become a smart and developed nation by 2041. Therefore, we believe successful implementation of the AL’s poll manifesto will take the country to a unique height.
