Conference of Mouchak union unit of Awami League of Kaliakair upazila was held at Mazukhan village in Gazipur on Friday.
Liberation War Affairs Minister AKM Mozammel Huq attended the programme as the chief guest. Earlier, the minister inaugurated the conference by releasing balloons. Later, he declared the new committee.
Habibur Rahman Sikder and Habibullah Belali were declared as president and secretary respectively.
A good number of Awami League activists from the union attended the programme with Habibur Rahman Sikder, convener of Mouchak union Awami League, in the chair.
Ekbal Husain Sabuz, MP from Gazipur-3 constituency, Kaliakair upazila Awami League leader Kamal Uddin Sikder, Murad Kabir and Mosaraf Husain Joy spoke there as special guests.
