AL remembers August 21 victims

Bangladesh Awami League (AL), Awami Juba League (JL) and Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) in Jhenaidah had observed the grenade attack day of August 21 on Saturday. The programmes were taken s to show respect to the martyrs killed in grenade attack on August 21 of 2004.

AL, BCL and JL brought out separate rallies from Pairachatter in the town and ended at Prerona Ekattor where the mural of the Father of the Nation was established. They all placed floral wreaths at the mural of Bangabandhu.

AL Jhenaidah district unit vice president also upazila parishad chairman Abdur Rashid Advocate, Toyeb Ali Joarder, Akkas Uddin, Ashok Dhar, M Hakim Ahmed, Asaduzzaman Asad, Poura unit leaders Nazrul Islam, JL convener Shafiqul Islam Shimul, district convener Rana Hamid, Juba Mahila League general secretary Salma Yesmin among others present.

A discussion meeting was also held with Advocate Abdur Rashid in the chair, while Jhenaidah-2 lawmaker Tahjib Alam Siddiquee Somi attended as chief guest. The speakers said a vested quarter have been playing active role destroy the sovereignty of the country since its inception in 1971. 

But the brave people of the country under the leadership of Sheikh Hasina have been marching ahead ignoring all barrier and odds to enjoy the liberty. They will resist the conspirators at any cost, they speakers said.

Sramik League district unit president Akkas Ali, Juba League Convener Ashfaque Mahmud John, leaders Jahangir Alam, Ibrahim Khalil Raja and others were present in the discussion.
