Prime Minister’s Political Assistant (Secretary rank) Rashed Khan has alleged that the Awami League, led by Sheikh Hasina, is conspiring from India to create instability and disorder during the upcoming Durga Puja.
He made the allegation while answering journalists’ questions after a preparatory meeting on Durga Puja celebrations at the Jhenidah Shishu Academy auditorium on Wednesday (October 7, 2026).
Claiming that the government has specific information about the alleged conspiracy, Rashed Khan urged BNP and its affiliated organisations to remain alert and thwart any attempt to create disorder.
“The fascist Awami League government, backed by India, seized power by force for 16 years by depriving people of their voting rights. Now, they are engaged in a fresh conspiracy against the elected BNP government and the country while staying in India,” he said.
He also criticised Jamaat-e-Islami, alleging that its policymakers were instigating battery-run auto-rickshaw drivers to launch protests against government measures to control traffic and free Dhaka’s footpaths from encroachment.
The meeting was chaired by Jhenidah Deputy Commissioner Md Noman Hossain. Police Superintendent Mia Mohammad Ashish Bin Hassan and other officials and local leaders were present.
Earlier, Rashed Khan went to the home of Mission Acharya in Kalabagan Para and handed him an appointment letter for the post of assistant primary school teacher.
Mission, who had been finally recommended for the post, had been unable to receive the appointment because he had no permanent homestead land or property. Rashed Khan became emotional while speaking at the programme.
The appointment letter was handed to Mission’s mother in the presence of District Primary Education Officer Amzad Hossain, local dignitaries and BNP leaders. Guests urged Mission to perform his duties with honesty and sincerity. #EK
