Awami League leader Mansur Ali, 65, was hacked to death on his way to the field with a cow at Mithamain in Kishoreganj.
An injured man named Babul Mia, 35, is undergoing treatment at the hospital. Mansur Ali, son of Yunus Ali of Hemantaganj village under Kewarjor union at the upazila, died at Kishoreganj 250-bed General Hospital on Sunday (November 1).
According to police and locals, Taher Mia, who was stay tuned on Mansur Ali's way with 14-15 people chopped him and seriously injured. At that time, when a pedestrian Babul Mia went to stop him, a man named Ibrahim also stabbed and injured Babul Mia. Criminal cases are pending between the two sides.
Locals rescued the two injured and admitted them to Kishoreganj 250-bed General Hospital. Mansur Ali died while undergoing treatment there.
Officer-in-Charge of Mithamin Police Station Zakir Rabbani confirmed the information.
