A delegation of the International Affairs sub-committee of the ruling Awami League has met with German Ambassador Achim Tröster and the representatives of the European Union delegation in Dhaka.
The meeting was held on Monday at the residence of the German ambassador. The deputy head of delegation of the EU office in Dhaka and minister counsellor were also present, said a press release.
They discussed issues related to bilateral interests.
Dr Shammi Ahmed, International Affairs Secretary, Central Working Committee, Bangladesh Awami League, led the delegation of the sub-committee.
The EU is the principal trading partner of Bangladesh. All products enjoy duty-free quota-free access to the EU member states. Germany is the largest market, among them. Next year would be the 50th anniversary of EU-Bangladesh relations.
